The 2021 Toronto Blue Jays - by Moses

Here is how are Jays have fared through the first 76 games (40-36).  There have been probably eight games that we should have won.  Mismanagement by Manager Charlie Montoyo.  This won't prohibit these Jays who are young and hungry.  We'll be in the race come late July.  The starting pitching staff has been very good to this point of the year.  We're one eighth inning reliever away from having a strong bullpen.  I say bring up Jacob Waguespack from the Buffalo Bisons to pitch in eighth inning situations alongside Anthony Castro, with Jordan Romano as our closer.  Tyler Chatwood can't be trusted in these situations, he's a sixth/seventh inning reliever alongside lefty Tim Mayza.  It'll be interesting to see how Ryan Borucki fares upon his return from the disabled list (which may put us over the top) alongside the return of Julian Merryweather (who were dominant when they were healthy).

With the return of George Springer our offence is at full gear.  Rowdy Tellez will be in the lineup  shortly and will add depth when facing right-handed pitching.  The lineup is stoked to produce (which they've done all year minus Springer and Tellez).  The reality of this team is that we could just as easily be 48-28 to this point of the year.  Alek Manoah has shown he's a solid starter for our rotation, and Ross Stripling has progressed nicely as our four starter.  With Anthony Kay we have six starters that can produce.  It'll be interesting to see if the Jays will bring up lefty Zach Logue from Triple A for a few starts as he has been dominant this year in Double A and Triple A.  There is also speculation as to whether or not to bring up Kevin Smith (2B/3B) from Triple Ball as he carries a .938 OPS in Buffalo currently.  Kirby Snead has also put up dominant numbers in Buffalo and is worthy of a call-up.  Richard Urena (2B/SS/3B) is also having a fantastic year and could likewise see some playing time with the big club.

The 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms - by Moses

In 1776 the U.S.A fought against English colonialism by arming themselves against the red coats.  This was in a time when five Rifles was considered an armored existence.  The problem we're seeing in today's' age is symptomatic of the Americanism of armed forces within the main populous across America today.  This can't be controlled presently with the amount of firepower available to the masses within the U.S.A today and as a result we see guns being run into cities across the U.S.A to serve economic interests within their Nation.  The U.S needs to have balls enough to say no to the National Rifle Association when it comes to the selling and distribution of anything other than handguns and hunting rifles.  Say no to semi-automatics, say no to sub-machine guns, M-16's, AK-47's the lot of them.  The reality is that economically these guns don't need to be supported to have a thriving economy.  To the man that collects guns I ask a very simple question.  'Are you accountable?'  If a man is accountable to his guns and is registered there really isn't a problem.  The problem is when the N.R.A use their clout and arm inner cities with corruption from their end of doing business.  This is a vicious cycle that needs to end with an amendment to the 2nd amendment right to bear arms.  The registration of firearms within America is imperative to insure that violence on the streets of Chicago, Detroit, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, among other big American cities cease to exist.

The Vaccine Scandal - by Moses

The vaccine for Covid has been around for at least 20 years.  It is now understood that of the mutations of Covid is SARS related (dating back 20 years).  Therefore we can interpolate the data being forth in the name of an 8 month researched vaccine that has roots to SARS dating back 20 years and we're being led to believe that the vaccine was an eight month project?  How much money has been doled to the medical community is what I'd like to know.  This seems like a military exercise that has been planned for twenty years to lock-down communities for self serving interests.  There are at least 12 Pharmaceutical companies that have been doled $200+ Billion U.S.D contracts while the average Joe or small business owner is being squeezed out of business by corporations feeding the money to the medical community for their clout.  This is a head game to scare people into believing whatever it is that the corporations want you to believe.  Then the U.S has the audacity to tell their people that a cheque for $6000/family is just compensation.  Well it sure is hell isn't a problem economically for the Doctor, the Nurse, the Orderly, the Pharmacologist, the Pharmacy Owner, or anyone associated with a pharmaceutical company (or the health care system for that matter).

This is a vicious cycle if you ask me.  First we were told this was a strong flu.  Then we were told there was no remedy.  Then we were told that the vaccine was JUST invented.  Then Biden won the Presidency and he told the people of his Country what he NEEDED the people to do instead of telling the people what he wanted, which was to get the the two shots of the vaccine.  We were told that is all you need to take.  Now we're being told that we have to take a booster either annually or every two years and that mutations of the COVID will be around for years.

Imminent Call-ups in the Toronto Blue Jays Chain - by Moses

Imminent Call-ups - As the Blue Jays have called up Riley Adams (bats right - age 25) to the 'bigs for his accomplishments in Buffalo, they have a few more call-ups imminent for this year.  Bisons' lefties Taylor Saucedo (age 28) and Kirby Snead (age 26) are both primed for the Majors.  It looks like Gabriel Moreno (bats right - age 21) won't be called up to the show this year (as the Jays are giving a shot to Adams first).  Then there is Kevin Smith (bats right - age 24), a second base / third basemen who is putting up lofty numbers in Buffalo currently.  There is also lefty starter Zach Logue (age 25) who is likewise primed for a few starts this year with the big club (currently sitting with a 6.29 Strikouts/Walks ratio).  Jacob Waguespack (RHP - age 27) also has a fantastic Strikouts/Walks ratio of 5:1 this year in Buffalo, and is deserving of some innings in the show.  Waguespack had good numbers with the Jays in 2019 and should be considered for 7th, 8th inning duties this year (with his pedigree taken into account).  Connor Overton (RHP -age 27) has also put up top notch numbers in Buffalo and is likewise deserving of a shot in the 'bigs.

The Scheifele Hit

Game one in the Montreal/Winnipeg series and it was obvious that Scheifele had bad blood for Montreal.  It was a gross display of excessive force.  The suspension of 4 games was given to Sheifele as punishment.  Was that penalty severe enough?  In the early thirties Eddie Shore of the Boston Bruins body-checked Ace Bailey of Toronto into the boards with a cross-check.  The injury to Bailey signified the end of his career.  At the end of the year Shore publicly apologized to Bailey and was forgiven and the two shook hands at center ice.  The NHL held an all-star game the following year in Ace Bailey's name as the Toronto Maple Leafs played against the NHL All-Stars.

In defense of Sheifele many would say he isn't a dirty player but delivered a dirty hit.  There is a difference.  In Scheifele's career this suspension carries weight towards further disciplinary action against Sheifele if he uses excessive force like that in the future.  This was however, his first serious offence.  The problem in the NHL, NFL, and CFL is that they can't demand of their players past a point.  At some level there has to be discretion used by the players in the deliverance of physical play within boundaries.  These are PHYSICAL sports and the players understand the risk they take in playing on ice or on the grid iron.  What do we make of Angelo Mosca, a man who once threatened Harold Ballard and said something along the lines of 'if your Sheppard looks at me funny I'll slug him in the chops'.  For all intensive purposes this incident won't be forgotten but dealt with in the off-season and during the next Montreal/Winnipeg game of next year.  Nothing dirty but a fight at center ice - Shea Weber versus Mark Scheifele.  My bet is for Weber to deliver a shit-kicking.

2021 Toronto Blue Jays Projected Statistics and Imminent Call-Up - by Moses (a.k.a Stacey Marc Goldman)

Imminent Call-Up - Gabriel Moreno;  Moreno is a Double A Catcher who is batting .373 to start the year, and has tallied 45 RBI's with 8 Home-runs to date this year in only 126 At-Bats.  He knows how to draw walks and has a decent strikeout to walk ratio.  Moreno is also adept at throwing out base-runners evidenced by his career throw out rate at 35% which is higher than any catcher in the Blue Jays chain (44% CS this year).  He makes very few errors and would compliment McGuire, and either Jansen or Kirk very well in the development of our young arms, throwing out runners, and batting .280+ (if and when he is called up to the big leagues).  Similar to last year when the Jays brought up Alejandro Kirk from A Ball in Dunedin (and he had tremendous success at the big league level) the Jays could see huge dividends with Moreno.  Our Triple A Starting Catcher is Riley Adams in Buffalo with the Bisons.  Adams has clubbed 6 Home-runs this early into the season but is not as adapt at throwing out potential basestealers, as Moreno has a better arm and is more gifted defensively.  The reality is that Adams gets first crack at playing with the Blue Jays and even that will be short-lived with the return of Alejandro Kirk (coming back on a rehab mission in Buffalo currently)  Moreno is the Blue Jays catcher of the future and this could lead the Jays to deal Adams or Jansen for some more bullpen help or a top two starter to take us into the playoffs this year.
