The Massacres and Anti-Asian Attacks - by Moses

In the past week we've seen an Anti-Asian attack on Asian-American Massage Parlors in Atlanta, and a massacre of 10 killed in Colorado just a few days ago.  This has raised the question of gun control once again.  What is needed in the U.S today is constitutional reform to include gun control (to make it stick) as well as clauses in the freedom of speech to recognize hate speech and prosecute those that cross the line.  Hate crimes against minorities in North America has been around for over 100 years now.  In fact if you analyze New York City's Lower East Side of the twenties and thirties you'll see that it was the Jewish, Italian, Irish, and German populations' that fought it out back then.  We see Muslim groups standing up to Anti-Semitism (as well as in Jewish communities).  Muslims in America in the time of Malcolm X were very specific as to what they would accept and not accept for their children.  They're paying a price for it because of Islamophobia, a notion that Muhammad's descendants are the enemy.  Abraham was a friend of Muhammad and Muhammad was a friend of Abraham.

Analyze very closely what is in our school curriculum.  Stereotypes, constant stereotypes of minorities, as well as labeling people with Mental Health stigma.  See, the reality is that if someone is depressive by nature, you don't label that person as depressive, that person seeks counsel to rid the stigma.  What would happen to the Canadian and U.S health care system if over 1/3 rd of the population were labeled by Mental Health diagnosis.  There simply aren't enough beds to accommodate neo-liberal views of treating a guy as being Mentally Ill and dismissing the fact that he massacred 10 people.  I say 'an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth'.  Look at the three massage parlors that were attacked.  All of the people there that were Asian-American were killed.  I refuse to accept that in the massacre and this Anti-Asian attack that it be treated as Mental Health issues.  Once someone acts out and kills he is a murderer.  Plain and simple.

Those are hate crimes which stems from racism and should be treated as such.
