Diasable This !!! Newsletter - by Moses

  Some have said we abide by the law 'Survival of the Fittest'.
What do we make of the accomplishments of Stephen Hawkins?  A man with practically no ability to fight back, yet he revolutionized the technology industry through deduction.
  In the 1970's and 1980's a man was said to exercise 5% of their mind on average.  Today it is reported that a man exercises 20% of their mind on average.
  My late Uncle, Allan Marvin Kay, summized this on Stereo Devices;
Take the VCR Tape and run it master to the Receiver, and in turn run the Receiver master to the Television.  This is what we see in Post-Production Facilities across North America.  In other words my
late Uncle was a pioneer in recording techniques (as prior to his technique the television was master to the VCR tape, leading to sound degradation).
  Allan took several post-secondary courses yet he still couldn't find placement in the workforce.  At that time (during the 1970's) people with Cerebral Palsy had no chance to enter the workforce.  In many
ways' it killed him to not be able to enter the workforce and have a chance to shine.
  The social service quagmire leaves many people across Canada wondering why people on Disability Allowance don't re-enter, or rather enter the workforce.  There is still a major stigma towards people on a disability pension.  Most Canadians look at a disability pensioner as being a financial burden.
  In actual fact, most I know that are receiving a disability allowance in Canada want to be employed.  Instead of looking at the negatives of a persons' disability, we should be looking at the innate
abilities that even disability pensioners' possess.  This would, in turn allow for more disability pensioners to enter gainful employment and exit the current social service quagmire.
